The Tarka Country Trust was set up in March 1999.  Following a successful application to the Millennium Commission, the Trust ran the Tarka Country Millennium Awards from 2000 to 2004. Many grants were given out to local organisations including Hartland Archive Project, Explore Braunton, History of Hele Bay, North Devon Dormouse Project and Virginstow Past and Present.

The Trust today

The Trust currently gives out grants to community groups through the Community Wildlife Fund.  The Trust also receives and gives funding to help run or support projects across north Devon
